FORMER Queen bassist and rock legend Barry Mitchell has died.
Fans hailed Barry as an “incredible guitarist” as they flooded to social media to pay tribute.

Barry was the iconic rock band’s second bassist between 1970 and 1971.
News of his passing was confirmed by Queen’s official archivist Greg Brooks.

In a tribute on Facebook, he wrote: “Terribly sad news just received that early Queen bass player, Barry Mitchell, has passed away.
“His anecdotes at the convention were fascinating and offered rare insight. He will be greatly missed.”
