NSUI believes that examinations are an integral part of education and should not become an additional financial burden on students,” said Sidhu. He further added, “This election is not merely about winning a position; it is about taking responsibility for every student whose voice deserves to be heard. Our fight for ‘zero examination fees’ is a fight for accessible and equitable education.”The campaign will also focus on academic and student welfare, stronger support for research and higher education, better campus facilities, and greater student participation in university decision-making.Thakur said, “Students deserve a campus where their concerns are heard, their rights are protected and their voices are respected. We are entering this election with a commitment to working for every student and to make student welfare our first priority.”NSUI will take its agenda directly to the students in the coming days and seek their support for a student-first, issue-based and accountable student council, she added.
