A 27.78-acre plot in the prime locality of Mohali’s Sector 62 was auctioned for Rs 1,742.31 crore against a reserve price of Rs 1,214.16 crore in the e-auction conducted by Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) that concluded on Thursday.Among six bidders vying for the prime property in the heart of the town, Aggarwal Plaza Private Limited quoted the highest amount after 80 bids were placed for Plot Nos. 30-34.In all, GMADA earned Rs 5,391 crore against a reserve price of Rs 3,872 crore by auctioning 27 properties, including commercial plots, shop-cum-offices (SCOs), booths, and hotel and hospital sites, in different sectors of Mohali. As many as 37 properties were up for grabs.Seven SCOs, measuring 101 sq m each, in Sector 69 were sold in the range of Rs 7.6 crore to Rs 7.7 crore against a reserve price of Rs 3.03 crore. A corner SCO in Sector 53 was auctioned for Rs 6.02 crore against a reserve price of Rs 2.97 crore.Plot No. 82 in Sector 64 fetched Rs 8.02 crore, the highest among its category.Officials said most SCOs fetched double the reserve price, indicating robust demand for commercial properties in different sectors of Mohali. More than 35 bidders vied for each commercial property, placing around 150 bids for each property.A hotel site in Sector 66-Beta was bagged by Ameo Media Private Limited for Rs 122.42 crore, while a hospital site (16,389 sq m) in Aerocity A-Block was bought by Onn Warehousing Private Limited for Rs 162.16 crore against a reserve price of Rs 66.87 crore.Chunk land plots in Blocks E, I and J of Aerocity also found takers, but only slightly above their reserve prices.
