ANDY Burnham will today vow Britain will stand with Ukraine “for as long as it takes” as he visits Kyiv on his first foreign trip as PM.
He will mark Ukraine’s Independence Day alongside President Zelensky.

Mr Burnham will also chair his first meeting of the UK and France-led Coalition of the Willing.
The PM said: “The friendship between our two countries will long outlast Russia’s illegal war.

“In both the fight and in the rebuilding to come, we will stand with Ukraine.
“And deliver opportunities for people across both our countries.

“Russia should be in no doubt of our resolve.
“We will not back down until there is a just and lasting peace.”
It comes after Moscow warned Britain would face “consequences” over the reported use of UK-made drones in Ukrainian strikes deep inside Russia.
He will also accept an award recognising the UK’s support.
Britain has authorised defence giant MBDA to release info on missile components, so they can be assembled in Ukraine.
