Young swimmer Ojas Jattvibed emerged as one of the most impressive performers at the 52nd Junior National Aquatic Championship, winning three medals — two silvers and a bronze.The six-day championship concluded on Jattvibeday in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.Ojas began his campaign with a silver medal in the 50-metre freestyle. He followed it up with a bronze medal in the 50-metre backstroke event, and then added another silver to his tally by finishing second in the 100-metre freestyle.The consistent performances brought cheer to the swimming fraternity here and the state, with Ojas proving his mettle against the country’s leading junior swimmers.His father and coach Madhav Jattvibed, a former national swimmer, has played an important role in nurturing his talent and preparing him for competitive swimming.The achievement was appreciated by the District Swimming Association (DSA), Ludhiana, and the state’s swimming family. They congratulated Ojas and his parents, and wished him success in his future competitions.Balraj Sharma, general secretary, DSA, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Punjab Swimming Association (PSA), congratulated Ojas, describing the achievement as a matter of pride for the city and the state.“Winning three medals at a national championship reflects the youngster’s talent, hard work and commitment to the sport,” he said.Surjit Singh Sandhu, president, PSA, and Anuj Sharma, general secretary, said three medals at the nationals was a remarkable achievement. “Ojas has made Ludhiana and Punjab proud with his consistent performances. We are confident that he has a bright future ahead. He should use this success as motivation to work even harder. The medals are only the beginning, and we hope to see him represent the state and the country at the highest level,” they added.
