COPS have charged an Afghan man after a 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped in a chilling city centre attack.
Abdul Shinwari, 24, has been charged following reports the teenager was attacked in Manchester.
The alleged rape happened on Hope Street, near Piccadilly Gardens, at around 1.30am on July 14.
Shinwari, of no fixed abode, has been charged with two counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault.

He also faces charges of non-fatal strangulation and possession with intent to supply.
The 24-year-old is due to appear at Manchester Crown Court today, Greater Manchester Police said.

Specialist safeguarding officers are continuing to support the teenage victim.
Police have not released further details about the alleged attack.
