A BRIT gaming fanatic is convinced his US cop car is going to star in the hugely anticipated new Grand Theft Auto video game.
Lukas Holmes reckons he has spotted the distinctive black and white Ford Crown Victoria in trailers for the release.

Developers from Rockstar Games, the Edinburgh company behind the GTA action-adventure series, spent hours photographing the car and recording sounds including its engine and doors slamming in 2021.
Lukas, 28, declared: “Honestly, I’m very excited. A crazy kind of excited, but I’m also trying to suppress it.” Grand Theft Auto VI is due to be released on November 19.

It is expected to be the year’s biggest game launch with development costs estimated at £866million.
Predecessor GTA V came out in September 2013 and became one of the best-selling games of all time.

Lukas, from Warrington, Cheshire, has dreamed of owning a US police squad car since he was five.
In 2019 he bought the cruiser from Warminster Township Police Department in Pennsylvania.
He now rents it out for media work though his website Rent-A-Vic. In 2021, he was invited to bring the car to Millbrook Proving Ground test track in Bedfordshire.
Lukas said: “I had my suspicions it was Rockstar when I was told it was a big client from Edinburgh.
“Once I found out it was Rockstar Games, I was like, it’s got to be Grand Theft Auto.
“Rockstar could ultimately decide not to use my audio for whatever reason, although this remains unlikely when the studio have been going above and beyond in detail.
“No GTA title before has ever featured realistic engine/car sound effects. I’m a big GTA fan. I’ve played the game since GTA IV in 2008.”
Lukas said: “I love this car to bits. I’ve had silly offers from people wanting to buy it. I’ve turned them all down.”

AN extended preview of the new Grand Theft Auto game shows fans can expect mind-blowing graphics, car chases and shootouts.
Millions have watched the 26-minute clip on Netflix and YouTube since its release yesterday.
The trailer showcases the relationship between Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, the couple at the centre of GTA VI’s Bonnie and Clyde story.
The preview, with a soundtrack including Cliff Richard’s 1970s hit Devil Woman, also includes lifelike graphics of characters and locations in the fictional Florida-inspired state of Leonida.

Players can also explore Vice City, an area based on Miami, which first appeared in the original game.
Grand Theft Auto has sold half a billion copies since the series launched in 1997. Gaming expert Will Guyatt reckoned: “With all the hype and expectation, fans were not let down by the extended reveal.
“Rockstar have even made the music of Cliff Richard cool again.
“I’m looking forward to chasing alligators, playing basketball and kayaking — at the same time as becoming a crimelord. I’ll definitely be booking days off to play this, or joining the legions with GTA flu.”
