THE UK’s cheapest supermarket has been revealed — and shoppers could save more than £30 compared with Tesco’s Clubcard prices.
Aldi kept its crown after a basket of 92 everyday groceries cost an average of £159.36 in August, according to Which?

That was £30.09 cheaper than the equivalent shop at Tesco with Clubcard discounts, which came to £189.45.
Lidl narrowly missed out on the top spot, charging £161.10 for the same basket — just £1.74 more than Aldi.

The comparison included a mixture of branded and own-brand essentials, including milk, cheese and Hovis sliced bread.
Asda finished third with a bill of £185.21, but Sainsbury’s was hot on its heels for shoppers using Nectar prices.

The Sainsbury’s basket cost Nectar members £185.55 — just 34p more than Asda — after loyalty discounts were applied to 26 products.
Without a Nectar card, however, the same shop cost £195.33, almost £10 extra and enough to make Sainsbury’s the third-most expensive option.
Tesco’s standard prices produced a total of £192.97, meaning Clubcard members saved £3.52, while Morrisons charged £194.11.
At the pricier end of the table, Ocado’s basket cost £207.62, around 30% more than Aldi.
Waitrose was the most expensive supermarket at £223.75 — a whopping £64.39, or 40 per cent, more than Aldi.
Which? Retail Editor Reena Sewraz said: “Our research shows that the discounters remain the cheapest option for everyday essentials.
“While Asda continues to beat loyalty prices at Tesco and Sainsbury’s, loyalty cards can make a huge impact at the till.”

Special offers and loyalty discounts were included where they applied, but multibuy promotions were not counted.
