CHELSEA star Levi Colwill has been given the go-ahead by planners for a gym extension at his £4.2million Surrey mansion after his injury hell last season.

The Blues defender, 23, made just five appearances for the club last season and missed out on a place in England‘s World Cup squad after getting crocked in pre-season with a horror ACL injury.

He now wants to build his own private gym at his luxury six-bed pad near Chelsea‘s Cobham training ground – complete with a steam room and seating area.

He also plans to put in a new cinema, games room, play room, TV room and study in a Grand Designs-style makeover of the pad which boasts a swimming pool and six bathrooms.

It also has a master bedroom with its own dressing room, a double garage with accommodation, an outdoor kitchen and a couple of mini goals for a kickabout, of course.

Past and present former neighbours on the exclusive private estate include former Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta, TV star Ant McPartlin and former tennis player turned broadcaster Andrew Castle.

Colwill is believed to have bought the pad from former Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand who famously made his Champions League debut in the 2012 final, beating Bayern Munich on penalties.

Bertrand was given the go-ahead for a gym extension several years ago but failed to carry out building work within the three-year deadline.

Colwill re-submitted plans for the “modest” single-storey side extension which have again been approved by the local Council after there were no objections from neighbours.

The council said: “There would be no adverse impact on the character of the area or the visual amenities of the street scene as a result of the proposals.

“It is considered that the proposed development would not adversely affect the residential amenities of neighbouring properties by reason of overlooking, loss of light or overbearing effect.”

Colwill joined Chelsea at under-nine level and has played 80 times for the first team since his breakthrough season in 2023/24.

He finally made his return near the end of last season after a lengthy absence as a result of his ACL injury .

He made his England debut in 2023, and has since increased his tally to five caps for the Three Lions.
