The Hindi theatrical epic ‘Hamare Ram’ will be staged at the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Patiala, on September 18 and 19, with two shows daily at 2 pm and 6 pm.Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh and Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board Advisor Deepak Bali on Wednesday appealed to residents to turn up in large numbers for the production based on the life, ideals and eternal message of Maryada Purushottam Lord Ram.The passes for the shows are available free of cost through the offices of MLAs, district administration offices and BookMyShow, they said.Dr Balbir Singh said the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, was taking the teachings and message of Lord Ram to the younger generation through the epic Ramayana.He said the government respected individual faiths and had been organising programmes cutting across religious beliefs, including events commemorating the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and the 650th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, besides programmes such as ‘Ek Shaam Bhagwan Shiv Ke Sang’ and ‘Hamare Ram’.Bali said 41 shows of ‘Hamare Ram’ were being staged across Punjab, with four performances scheduled at RGNUL, Patiala. Elaborate light and sound arrangements have been made for the shows, he added.Produced by Felicity Theatre, ‘Hamare Ram’ brings the Ramayana alive through spectacular visuals, aerial acts and advanced stage technology. Actor Ashutosh Rana portrays Ravan, while Rahul R. Bhuchar plays Lord Ram.The production presents the Ramayana from distinctive perspectives, beginning with Luv and Kush confronting Lord Ram after Sita’s separation and unfolding through the celestial perspective of the Jattvibe God.Mayor Kundan Gogia, District Planning Committee Chairman Tejinder Mehta, Improvement Trust Chairman Harpal Singh Virk and ADC (Rural Development) Damanjit Singh Mann were also present.
