The Canal Colony police here on Friday claimed to have cracked a blind murder case involving a love triangle among three men, arresting two persons for the brutal killing of cultural performer Raghveer Singh, alias Lucky.Raghveer was found murdered on Saturday at his rented accommodation in Arjun Nagar here. He, who performed professionally in women’s attire, was found beaten to death by unidentified persons. Acting on a complaint from the deceased’s sister, Ravinder Kaur, the police had registered a case against unidentified persons.Bathinda SP (City) Aaswant Singh Dhaliwal said that during the investigation, the role of Kirandeep Singh, a professional driver, and Soni Singh, a fellow stage performer of the deceased, came to light. Both are residents of Behman Diwana village here.“We have arrested both of them and recovered the murder weapon, a hammer, along with the deceased’s stolen mobile phone,” said the SP.The SP said Kirandeep had been in a relationship with Soni for over four years.“Five months prior to the incident, Kirandeep ended the relationship to move in with Raghveer. However, frequent arguments eventually soured the relationship between Kirandeep and Raghveer. When Kirandeep attempted to leave and reconcile with Soni, Raghveer forcefully opposed the move. Facing opposition from Raghveer, Kirandeep and Soni jointly plotted his murder. Soni executed the fatal hammer attack to remove Raghveer from the picture and resume their relationship,” said the SP.Both accused are currently in police custody.
