JAMES WADE admitted he has “lost the keenness” after scraping through a dramatic World Series Finals thriller.
The world No6 edged past Damon Heta 6-5 to reach the last 16 in Amsterdam after surviving a match dart in a tense encounter.

Wade, 43, extended his unbeaten run to TEN matches after picking up the Australia Masters and the Flanders Darts Trophy in his last two outings.
But despite his stunning run of results, Wade insisted he lost motivation ahead of his clash against Heta at the AFAS Live.

He said: “I have been keen. I have seemed to have lost the keenness today, though. I haven’t been as keen as I was the last month or so.
“We will see. I think I had enough. I have been around too much darts.

“I have been playing well for 18 months. Longer than that, actually. I just had a bit of lady luck on my side the last month or so.
“I have won a couple of things. I feel like I have momentum anyway. I feel like I have been playing well for a long time.”
The Aldershot slinger believes his recent success has been built on his trademark finishing when it matters most.
He added: “I just think it’s a bit of lady luck. Things at the right time. I am up for it. I feel up for it. I think I am quite relaxed, that’s what it is.

“I haven’t been super confident for the past month or so. It’s just timing and lady luck on my side.”
The Machine returns to action on Saturday and will face Wessel Nijman for a spot in the quarter-final of the Premier event.
