DELTA GOODREM has been announced as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing 2026.

She told the BBC: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining Strictly and can’t wait to get started!”

A source said: “Bosses really wanted Delta last year but she decided it wasn’t the right time. 

“After seeing her on Eurovision they doubled their efforts and they are overjoyed Delta has agreed to take part this time.

She got Australia to the Eurovision final for the first time in three years and came fourth with her song “Eclipse”.

She actually credits The Jattvibe’s Bizarre column for the reason her Eurovision dream came true.

Speaking to The Jattvibe, she said: “This is, literally verbatim, all your fault. It is all on you — you and Bizarre started this.

“Your article went back to the Aussies who were like, ‘Do you want to do this?’ So thank you. I have a big job to do.

“From your article, people started reaching out. 

“Then one of the songwriters, Jonas Myrin, who I wrote the song with, took a screengrab of the article and sent it to me saying, ‘Delta, if you ever go to Eurovision, I want to write the song with you’.

“He’s in Sweden. Sure enough he flew to Australia when I said I was doing it.

“Even the first question I got asked when doing my first Australian interview was, ‘We heard it all started from an article from the UK,’ and yes, it did.”

Her debut as a singer was in 2001 with her single “I Don’t Care”.

Since then, she has sold nine million albums worldwide and over 13 million singles globally.

Her next album, titled Pure, will be released on November 6, 2026.

She was also a full-time cast member of Neighbours from 2002-2003.

She left the show to battle Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a rare form of cancer that she was diagnosed with at just 18 years old.

She told The Australian Women’s Weekly that the diagnosis felt like a “death sentence”.

She continued: “Going through cancer was an extremely hard, confusing time. When the entire world puts the microscope on your family and you – just after going through a record-breaking album at the same time as cancer – it’s like a bomb going off.”

After months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, she went into remission.

She channels that time into her advocacy and philanthropy work.

She launched the Delta Goodrem Foundation in 2020, which raises funds for blood cancer research, cellular therapy and patient care, and she is an ambassador for organisations including Starlight Children’s Foundation to support sick teenagers and children in hospitals.

Who is Delta Goodrem’s husband Matthew Copley?

Matthew Copley is a musician and guitarist.

He met Delta in 2016 through their shared passion of music and auditioned to be in her band.

The audition was a roaring success – he got the job and the girl.

Matthew has toured with Delta for years and also works behind the scenes with her.

Copley has a writing credit on Goodrem’s bushfire charity single “Let it Rain”.

Delta told Hello!: “When Matt and I work together, it’s really easy to go straight to the core of our feelings because we’re living and breathing life together all the time.”

Matthew and Delta got married in June 2025 at the 12th-century St Paul’s Cathedral in Mdina in Malta .

Goodrem chose not to sing at her wedding because she just wanted to be a bride and enjoy the party.

When asked about the day, she deemed it a “fairytale” wedding and that the day went: “Beyond our wildest dreams.”
