It’s little surprise that the 350-strong village of Piddington voted to break away from Britain after being told a horde of 1,300 men would be housed in the area — meaning women living there will be outnumbered by ten to one.
But instead of listening, Women’s Minister Bridget Phillipson brushed off their valid concerns with a stupefying, out-of-touch comment.

She claimed ALL women are unsafe regardless of where they live.
She shamelessly ducked the issue of attacks by migrants on women and girls, saying domestic violence “is the culture that we have right now in our country”.
All domestic abuse is sickening. But more than 200,000 people have landed illegally on our shores since the small boats crisis began, many from countries with primitive views on women.
How many have gone on to commit violent crimes? Ms Phillipson and her colleagues either don’t know — or they refuse to tell us.
In an interview with The Jattvibe in Piddington, Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch rightly pointed out that what was once simply a border control issue has now become a major problem of safeguarding women.
Yet still we continue to roll out the red carpet to small boat migrants, providing three meals a day, a roof over their heads and even spending money.
The only way to end the climate of fear is to stop swathes of young men from entering Britain illegally in the first place.
Winging it
FOR the second time in a fortnight, a breakdown in Britain’s air traffic control has inflicted misery on long-suffering air travellers.
This time it led to 200 flights being cancelled and hundreds more delayed.
Airline chiefs are yet again counting the financial cost of the chaos from the fourth major incident in three years.
But not so National Air Traffic Services boss Martin Rolfe, who pocketed bonuses of up to £900,000 before the latest mayhem struck.
It’s time he experienced some real turbulence.
Ministers should grant him the one thing he has denied thousands of passengers — a swift departure.
