The couple dated for several years before marrying in December 2018 in a ceremony at Ellingham Hall in Northumberland.
Despite her husband’s high-profile sporting career, Sarah has maintained a private lifestyle, focusing on her career in education and raising their family.
Wood has often spoken fondly of her grounded nature and sense of humour.
Following his signing to the Lucknow Super Giants in the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction, Wood revealed Sarah’s reaction to the news.
He said that as soon as the final amount was confirmed, Sarah immediately asked what the sum worked out to in pounds (around £750,000).
Wood recalls that he laughed and joked that he might have to “freeze all our accounts” to keep track of things before they got carried away with spending.

Mark and Sarah Wood are proud parents to two children.
The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Harry, in 2019, shortly after getting married.
