The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday accused the BJP of using central agencies to intimidate Punjabis and AAP leaders, alleging that the move was aimed at disrupting the functioning of the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) and creating hurdles in the implementation of the Bhagwant Mann government’s welfare schemes.In a statement, the party said, “The BJP is unable to stop the welfare schemes through political means, so attempts are now being made to create administrative pressure and obstacles. The people of Punjab will not allow these tactics to succeed.”The party specifically alleged that the Centre was trying to obstruct the Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojna and disrupt GMADA’s functioning.The party also alleged that Arvind Kejriwal’s criticism of the Election Commission’s functioning had further “rattled” the Modi government, prompting it to resort to pressure tactics against Punjabis.The party further said the BJP could deploy “as many agencies as it wanted”, but raids and intimidation would not weaken the resolve of Punjabis.
