Harshvardhan Rane, who gained recognition with Sanam Teri Kasam (2016), has opened up about how he distanced himself from the film’s team after its underwhelming box office performance. The actor admitted that he went completely silent, much like a cricketer who avoids conversations in the dressing room after a team loss.Reflecting on that phase and accepting his mistake, in an exclusive interview with ETimes Rane shared, “After the film didn’t work in 2016, I behaved like that one cricketer who goes silent after the team’s loss—like the entire dressing room is quiet and it is no one’s fault, and I was at the forefront of it. I lost touch with my directors ( Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru) , my producer, the assistant directors, our DOP Chirantan Das, our costume stylist Rushi and Manoshi and Mawra Hocane , the other actors, and crew members. I don’t know why, but I went very silent. I started working on myself, so I was in a very positive state otherwise, but I went completely silent about talking about the film.”He also revealed that last year he finally reached out to producer Deepak Mukut, expressing his desire to re-release the film. The film was re-released in cinemas on February 7, 2025, and to everyone’s surprise, it has struck a chord with audiences once again.The film’s re-release has been met with an overwhelming response, collecting approximately ₹21.75 crore in just five days. The numbers have surpassed the earnings of Loveyapa and Badass Ravi Kumar, which were released on the same day. This unexpected resurgence has not only revived the film’s legacy but has also given Rane an opportunity to reconnect with the people he had once drifted away from.
