A 13-year-old class IX student of a private school in the city, allegedly distressed by his teachers, committed suicide by hanging himself from the roof of his house on Saturday.The boy left behind a suicide note blaming two school teachers for forcing him to end his life.The suicide note, written by the boy in his school notebook, was submitted to the police by his family.Taking action on the basis of the note, the Police Division-6 registered a case against both teachers under Sections related to abetment to suicide.The booked teachers were identified as Savita and Rameshwari, who taught Hindi and Punjabi, respectively.Balwinder Kumar Saini, a resident of Kabir Nagar, in a complaint submitted to the police, stated that his son was a student in the nearby private school. Yesterday, after he returned home from the school, he committed suicide by hanging himself with a dupatta from the tin-shed on the roof of the house.Initially, when his son suddenly disappeared from the ground floor, the family started searching for him at various places near the house. When they went upstairs, they were shocked to see him hanging from the roof.”The matter came to light when we checked the son’s notebook. Before taking his life, our son had written a suicide note in the notebook. In it, the child wrote that he was troubled by his Hindi and Punjabi teachers and he wished to end his life,” added the boy’s father.Investigating officer Assistant Sub-Inspector Baljit Singh said after registering a case against Savita and Rameshwari, further investigation was launched by the police and the booked teachers would be arrested in the case.
