What is the correct way to perform Moorti Visarjan and why most people are doing it wrong

To maintain the purity of not just heart, but also the environment around you, just keep a few things in mind for the next visarjan. First things first, choose an eco-friendly idol, made with clay, or DIY it at home using simple materials. These will easily melt off in the water bodies without doing any harm. Then, if you wish to, paint the idols with natural colours. The red can come from beetroot, the yellow from Marigold flowers, the purple from cabbage, and the likes. Just make sure that the things you use are good for you, and the idol too. Then, when you are finally immersing the idol on the last day, host a puja, take their blessings, ask for forgiveness, and then with your close family take the idol to the nearby pond or the makeshift water body (containers of water or wells). Then, take the idol in your arms, and gently immerse it in the water. Don’t throw it in the water, or just toss it in the water bodies, make sure you send them off with the same respect that you brought them in your home with.
