She currently serves as Senior Minister in the Punjab government, overseeing several important portfolios, including information, environment protection, planning, forestry, wildlife, fisheries, and special initiatives. Reports also indicate that she has been assigned responsibilities related to tourism, archaeology, and museums.Previously, Aurangzeb served as Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting from 2016 to 2018 and again from April 2022 to August 2023 during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s tenure. She was also elected twice to Pakistan’s National Assembly on seats reserved for women, in 2013 and 2018.Born in Lahore in 1980, Aurangzeb comes from a political family. She completed her early education in Islamabad before earning a Master’s degree in Economics from Quaid-i-Azam University and a Master’s in Environment and Development from King’s College London. Prior to entering politics, she worked for nearly a decade with WWF-Pakistan, focusing on environmental advocacy and sustainable development.
