Dr Jaswinder Singh, Sarpanch of Shahpur village in Amloh subdivision of the district and AAP leader, and his servant were attacked by five unidentified assailants at his private clinic in the village.Gurbachan Singh, a member of the block samiti, told mediapersons that the attackers, with their faces covered, barged into the clinic armed with kirpans and iron rods. They assaulted Dr Jaswinder Singh and his servant, leaving both seriously injured before fleeing the spot.The injured were initially taken to the Civil Hospital, Amloh, and later referred to a government hospital in Chandigarh. He said the attack appeared to be premeditated.Amloh DSP Gurdeep Singh said a case had been registered against unidentified persons. The police were examining CCTV footage to identify and arrest the culprits.
