India on Wednesday said it was working with the UK authorities to address concerns raised over reports of “horrific bungling” in the repatriation of British persons killed in the recent air Air India plane crash in Gujarat.AdvertisementThe air crash had left over 260 persons, including foreigners, dead.Several reports appearing in the UK press had stated that the bereaved families in England were suffering fresh heartache as they had found that the remains of their loved ones were wrongly identified before being flown home.”We have seen the report and have been working closely with the UK side from the moment these concerns and issues were brought to our attention,” read a statement of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).In the wake of the crash, the authorities concerned had carried out identification of victims as per established protocols and technical requirements, the Ministry said.”All mortal remains were handled with utmost professionalism and with due regard for the dignity of the deceased. We are continuing to work with the UK authorities on addressing any concerns related to this issue,” it said.
