The AAP government’s figures show a consistently rising graph in the number of beneficiaries under the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Castes (SC) students.Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr Baljit Kaur said the AAP government had set a minimum target of covering 2.70 lakh SC students this year.She informed the Vidhan Sabha that 2,26,427 beneficiaries had benefitted in 2022-23; 2,14,558 in 2023-24 and 2,37,456 in 2024-25.For the fiscal year 2025-26, the state government has released Rs 196 crore for 1,65,328 beneficiaries till date. She said more than 2.72 lakh SC students had applied for the scholarship during 2025, reflecting the growing awareness and trust of students in the scheme.The Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC students has been implemented under 60:40 ratio between the Centre and the state government.
