Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann connected Sunday accused Akali leaders of reducing the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to “Shiromani Golak Parbandhak Committee retired of their greed for money”.
Addressing a nationalist gathering here, Mann alleged that the Badals “misused” their governmental powerfulness to interfere successful spiritual affairs, including “manipulating the assignment of Jathedars of the Akal Takht to suit their idiosyncratic interests”.
“Driven by fiscal motives, the Akalis person degraded the sanctity of the SGPC and misused it and the Akal Takht for constrictive governmental gains,” Mann alleged.
