While Khalin Joshi carded a two-under 69 to claim his seventh professional title at the Andhra Open Golf Championship at the East Point Golf Club in Visakhapatnam, Chandigarh’s Akshay Sharma finished second. Local duo Ajeetesh Sandhu and Angad Cheema placed fifth and sixth, respectively.Sharma (70-70-74-65), produced a course-record final round of six-under 65 to surge from 13th overnight and secure runner-up spot, four shots behind the winner. Chandigarh’s Sandhu, who recently led Rajasthan Regals to victory at the inaugural edition of the DP World PGTI’s ‘72 The League’, finished fifth with a total of three-under 281.The 33-year-old Bengaluru-based Joshi (68-68-70-69) emerged victorious by a comfortable four-shot margin at nine-under 275. He began the final round with a three-shot lead at seven-under and signed off with a two-under 69, mixing five birdies with three bogeys to seal the title — his first in over 44 months, dating back to Coimbatore in August 2022.His final round featured an early bogey on the third before he responded with a birdie on the fourth, following a precise approach from 80 yards to 10 feet. He added another gain on the eighth from over the green and executed a crucial up-and-down on the 12th to remain firmly in control.
