A group of armed miscreants robbed a PRTC bus on the Jalandhar- Sultanpur Lodhi route on Friday, threatening the staff and creating panic among passengers.The incident occurred near Kularan, where three-four persons arrived in a white Honda City car near the Mothanwala police post.The PRTC bus runs daily from Jalandhar to Sultanpur Lodhi via the Sidhwan Dona-Mothanwala route. There were about 8 to 10 passengers in the bus when it was attacked.The driver of the PRTC bus (no. PB 08 D – G 5859), Pavit Singh, and conductor Malkit Singh, said they were taking the bus for daily rounds like every day.When the bus reached near Kularan, an old white Honda City car, in which three-four persons were travelling, blocked the path of the bus.Two of them forcibly entered the bus with a sickle and snatched Rs 800-900 from the conductor’s bag. During the incident, one of the accused revealed his identity and threatened that if passengers or bus riders told anyone, they would have to face the consequences.The accused fled from the spot after the incident. The bus staff immediately took the bus to the Mothanwala police station and filed a complaint.Sultanpur Lodhi SHO Narinder Singh said the case was under investigation and an FIR would be registered soon.
