A WOMAN’S body has been found in a public toilet near a historic landmark.
Police were called to the scene in Banbury, Oxfordshire, on Saturday morning.

Officers cordoned off the lavatories, near the Banbury Cross, as it launched a probe into the “unexplained death”.
Thames Valley Police arrived at the location on May 23 and set up a perimeter at 8.40am.
The toilets where the woman’s body was found are next to the Banbury Cross, a 16- metre neo-Gothic monument.
The victim has not been identified as officers continue with their investigation.

A police spokesperson said: “At around 8.20am this morning (23/5), we were made aware of an unexpected death in Banbury.
“Officers attended the public toilets on West Bar Street, close to the Banbury Cross, and sadly found the body of a woman.
“We are still in the initial stages of this investigation, and the woman has not yet been identified.
“If anyone has any information regarding this unexplained death, please make contact with us on 101 quoting reference 43260255904.”
