The Counter Intelligence wing of Punjab Police today early morning raided the houses of two suspects in Rattangarh village in Morinda area of Ropar district. They have been accused of carrying out the blast outside the Punjab BJP office in Chandigarh on Wednesday evening.Though the police officials did not confirm, but the family members said that Amanpreet Singh was arrested. Meanwhile, the police could not find main accused Gurtej Singh during the raid.According to sources, the raids were conducted as the police suspected that Gurtej, a Rapido bike rider, was involved in the blast.Amanpreet Singh’s wife said that her husband had no connection with the Gurtej Singh.Furthermore, Gurtej’s mother said that the family has not been in contact with him for the past 3-4 years and that they were being harassed unnecessarily. She said that she found out from people that her son was working as a Rapido driver in Chandigarh.“The police should arrest him if has done anything wrong, but other family members should not be harassed,” she stated.SSP Ropar Maninder Singh said that the raids were conducted by teams of police from headquarters and he did not have any knowledge regarding it.
