Leader of the Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa has written to the National Commission for Women (NCW) seeking action against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, alleging that the latter had made derogatory and sexist remarks against women during a Women’s Day event held in Sangrur.In a complaint signed by the Congress MLAs, addressed to NCW Chairperson Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar, the Congress leaders alleged that CM Mann’s remarks at March 8 function in Sunam were “misogynistic, objectifying and unbecoming of a constitutional authority”.Bajwa claimed that CM Mann referred to a woman student using the word “patola”, a colloquial Punjabi term often used to describe a woman’s physical attractiveness.
