Cyrus Broacha defends Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia amid India’s Got Latent controversy: ‘I don’t think they should be treated like common criminals’ | Hindi Movie News

Amid the growing controversy surrounding Samay Raina’s roast show India’s Got Latent, comedian Cyrus Broacha hit back at the criticism during an ABP News event. The controversy erupted when guest Ranveer Allahbadia made a controversial joke on Samay Raina’s show, which many found offensive. Addressing the backlash, Cyrus remarked, “In India, two words have been overused—’Parampara’ and ‘Sanskriti.’ Your tradition, my tradition, and your morality, my morality can be different.”Cyrus further challenged the selective outrage, asking the audience, “How many of you have consumed porn? Okay, let’s put it this way, how many of you have not consumed porn?” He emphasized the irony of outrage over a comedy roast while more controversial content is readily available on the internet.”When all the crimes are available on the internet, then how bad is this?” he questioned, pointing out the accessibility of explicit material online.Defending Samay and Ranveer, Cyrus said, “This is a roast show. People talk like this. It is a copy of Tony Hinchcliffe’s show Kill Tony. Many people will know it. I don’t think they should be treated like common criminals or have their careers stopped.”Ranveer Allahbadia’s ‘IGL’ Comment Sparks Uproar – Eyewitness Reveals What REALLY HappenedOn the other hand, Kriti Kharbanda expressed a different perspective, choosing not to focus on the roasting debate. “It’s my personal opinion. I feel like there are many issues in life that need our attention and are not getting it,” she said. She pointed out that there are bigger problems on social media than the India’s Got Latent controversy. “I’d much rather have an opinion about the blatancy that I see on social media—where there are nudes that people send you sometimes in your DMs. You’re getting tagged in random posts. All of that is also happening.”Urging people to focus on more pressing concerns, Kriti concluded, “By paying attention to something, you’re giving them that power of being important. It’s not important. It’s not worth the attention. What is worth your attention, drive your energy there. Timepass kya kar rahe hain hum?”
