Ahead of his headline concert in the national capital on Saturday, popular Punjabi singer Karan Aujla met Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who said the city was poised to emerge as a major cultural and event hub. The meeting, on Friday, comes as the singer prepares to launch his ‘P-Pop Culture India Tour’ with a major show at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on February 28.Sharing a video of the interaction on social media platform X, the Chief Minister welcomed the singer and highlighted Delhi’s cultural ambitions. “Met Karan Aujla! Artists like him don’t just perform—they move generations. And Delhi? We’re not just part of the culture. We’re shaping its future. The capital is stepping into its next cultural chapter,” she wrote.During the interaction, Gupta told the singer that the Delhi government wants to transform the capital into a global creative destination. “We want Delhi to become an event hub. It should be a creative capital where all the big stars come and connect with our youth,” she said. She also noted Aujla’s wide fan base, saying his appeal cuts across age groups. “There is so much demand, and I see that even small children and the youth are your fans,” she said. The CM also spoke about the government’s focus on ensuring proper event management and civic arrangements. Referring to recent cultural initiatives, she said, “I have seen two types of programmes—one is the Bhajan clubbing that we have started in Delhi, which has a different kind of impact on the youth, and the other is your modernised concept. You are going to get a lot of love in Delhi.” She added that authorities would ensure proper sanitation and traffic management during and after such large-scale events. “We will ensure that after your event and future programmes, the venue is properly cleaned and there is no mismanagement or traffic inconvenience,” she said.Meanwhile, Delhi Traffic Police issued a detailed advisory ahead of the concert, which is scheduled to be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium from 4 pm to 10 pm on Saturday.
