A state-level conference for district commissioners and municipal corporation commissioners on “Census 2027 – Phase I (House Listing Operations)” was successfully convened on Friday at a hotel in Chandigarh.The conference was jointly hosted by the Department of Local Government, Punjab, & Directorate of Census Operations, Punjab, and was held under the Chairmanship of KAP Sinha, Chief Secretary, Punjab.The conference formally marked the commencement of intensified preparations for Census 2027 in the state and provided a comprehensive platform to review administrative preparedness, technological integration, coordination mechanisms, and timelines for the effective implementation of phase I.
