A 20-year-old man, son of a DMK leader in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district, has been arrested for allegedly killing a man by ramming a car into him and his family members after an argument, reports NDTV.The man has been identified as Adithya.The victim, Sivamoorthy, was an assistant labour inspector and lived in Krishnagiri.According to the police, the incident happened when Adithya was driving near Sivamoorthy’s house. A two-wheeler was parked outside the house, blocking part of the road.Adithya started honking, asking for the vehicle to be moved.Sivamoorthy and his family came outside to remove the two-wheeler. An argument broke out between them. Police said that during the altercation, Adithya allegedly drove the car into Sivamoorthy, his son Kirubakaran, daughter-in-law Amsavalli and granddaughter Nilani. Sivamoorthy suffered serious injuries and later died. The other family members were also injured.Kirubakaran claimed that the accused were intoxicated and behaved aggressively. He said his father was trying to calm the situation when the car was suddenly driven into them.Adithya’s friends, Rithik Kumar and Harish, who were in the car at the time, have also been arrested. Police have registered a case of murder against the three accused and started further investigation.BJP state chief Nainar Nagendran has criticised ruling DMK.
