Sushmita Sen took the nation by storm with her role of ‘Miss Chandni’, a chemistry professor in ‘Main Hoon Naa’, released in 2004.Miss Chandni’s entry in the college, in a red saree, went down the history as one of the most iconic entries of Hindi cinema.However, Farah Khan recently revealed she initially intended to cast Sameera Reddy for the character.In her latest vlog, which was shot at Sameera’s Goa residence, Farah said, “Nobody knows, but I considered you for Mai Hoon Naa in Sushmita Sen’s role. I had seen your song, Ahista Kijiye Baatein, and you were dressed in Indian wear.”Surprised by Farah’s revelation, the ‘Race’ actor responded, “I want to know, why you didn’t take me?”The ‘Happy New Year’ director answered that Sameera had already signed ‘Maine Dil Tujhko Diya’, starring Sohail Khan, released in 2002.‘Main Hoon Naa’ was Farah Khan’s directorial debut and the film featured Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen, Amrita Rao, Zayed Khan and Suniel Shetty in lead roles.The film enjoys a massive fan base till date and considered a cult classic from the early 2000s.
