A fifth person has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a pedestrian was killed in a crash in Barnsley.Family members have paid tribute to Liam Green, 45, who died after he was hit by a car last week.
“We hope you’re at peace now,” they said in a statement.”We all love you very much, sending you big hugs from your mam, sons, brother and family.”Police had been called by the ambulance service after a report of a collision between a Volkswagen Touareg and a pedestrian on Rose Tree Avenue in the Cudworth area of the Yorkshire town around 4.55pm on Friday.

Mr Green died at the scene, South Yorkshire Police said in a statement.On Sunday, a 53-year-old man was detained, bringing the number of people arrested on suspicion of murder to five.
The man remains in police custody, alongside a 60-year-old man and 38-year-old woman who were arrested on Friday.

A 33-year-old man and 17-year-old boy who were arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday have both been bailed.Detective Chief Inspector Simon Cartwright appealed to anyone with information about the incident to contact them.He said the investigation into “this tragic incident is still in its early stages and our thoughts first and foremost are with the victim’s family, friends and loved ones”.
