A case of brutality against a four-year-old girl by a young man who used to visit the family has come to light in the area under the City-1 police station. The girl’s family admitted her to Abohar Civil Hospital, from where she was referred to the district hospital in Fazilka for a medical examination. Police have registered a case against the accused youth and launched a search for him.According to reports, the young man took the four-year-old daughter of a widow living in the area on the pretext of buying her something from a street shop. He then took her to a hillock far from the locality and tried to brutalise her. Hearing her cries, a passerby stopped, and the accused fled, leaving the girl crying. The passerby then took the girl home and informed her family.The victim was brought to the civil hospital for treatment late that night. Doctors on emergency duty informed the city police. Due to the hospital’s lack of a gynaecologist, the victim was referred to the Fazilka hospital for a medical examination.The City-1 police station in-charge Ravinder Singh stated that he received information from the hospital about the brutality. He called a woman police official, Promila, from Fazilka for investigation. She took the girl to Fazilka hospital, underwent a medical examination, and filed a full report at the police station. Based on this, a case has been registered against Pappi Singh, a resident of Seed Farm Colony, under Section 65(2) of the BNS Act and the POCSO Act. A search has been launched for the accused.
