SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal on Friday came down heavily on the “faulty policies” adopted by the AAP government, saying that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was holding an investment summit when everybody knew Punjab no longer could boast of a conducive atmosphere to attract industry.Addressing a “Punjab Bachao” rally in Fatehgarh Churian in Gurdaspur district organised by former MLA Lakhbir Singh Lodhinangal, he said, “This event can never bring in investment because, today, businessmen know that gangster and drug culture is all pervasive in the state.”“In a way, I am elated that the AAP government is showcasing the development the SAD had done in its 10-year rule from 2009 till 2017. The industrial ecosystem was more or less perfect then,” he added. He further accused the ruling dispensation of falsely claiming that it had made Punjab a power-surplus state, saying, “The fact is that it was Parkash Singh Badal who had put the state on the road to being power-surplus.”Senior leaders Daljit Singh Cheema, Bikram Majithia and Sucha Singh Langah also attended the rally. Majithia had the gathering in splits by directing witty anecdotes and one-liners at the CM. “One of AAP’s sarpanches was appointed the head of the ‘Yudh Nashiyan Virudh’ of his area. The same man was caught possessing 18 kg of heroin. Is this CM Mann’s drive against drugs?” he questioned.
