The ongoing public spat between Raghav Chadha and Aam Aadmi Party took a fresh turn on Saturday with the Rajya Sabha MP borrowing a hit dialogue from blockbuster movie ‘Dhurandhar’ to target his parent party.“Main ghayal hoon, isliye ghatak hoon,” he said in a video statement, refuting three charges AAP yesterday levelled against him to justify his removal as party’s deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha.Chadha said he had gone to Parliament to make an impact and not to create ruckus as he countered each of AAP’s points. He cited the three AAP accusations–Chadha does not support Opposition walkouts in the House; did not sign the impeachment motion against the Chief Election Commissioner on the special intensive revision of electoral rolls; and is scared to raise people’s issues–and dared the party to prove even one.“These are all white lies. There are CCTVs cameras in the Rajya Sabha, which can be seen to determine whether or not I supported Opposition walkouts. Also, out of 10 AAP Rajya Sabha MPs, six did not sign the motion against the CEC because only 50 MP signatures from the House are enough to carry the motion. So, what is the fuss about Raghav Chadha? Nor did any AAP leader approach me to sign this motion,” Chadha said in a statement today. He also dismissed AAP’s allegation of fear of the government and PM Narendra Modi and said he had raised people’s issues through four years of his tenure in the Rajya Sabha. “From Punjab waters to Delhi pollution, to taxes on people to even menstrual health which no one talks about, I have only raised people’s issues in the Rajya Sabha,” Chadha said, warning AAP of continuing to “unmask all falsehoods hurled at him”.The MP, who represents Punjab in the Rajya Sabha, said he had gone to Parliament that was run on taxpayer money to raise issues of taxpayers and not to “break mics and create noise”.AAP had yesterday said Chadha had been removed from the Rajya Sabha post as a routine disciplinary action. The party had accused him of raising soft issues in Parliament out of “fear of the BJP and the PM”.
