Despite opposition from AAP leaders to his frequent visits to Punjab, the police provided heavy security as Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini today squarely blamed the Bhagwant Mann government for the state’s “poor fiscal health” and deteriorating law and order.Addressing party workers in Samana, Saini asserted that while the BJP government in Haryana had transformed the state over the past decade, the AAP in Punjab had failed to deliver. “The AAP came to power with grand claims of making Punjab colourful, but has instead left it impoverished. Despite spending crores on publicity to eradicate drugs, deaths due to overdoses have become the new norm, and AAP workers themselves are now involved in the supply,” he alleged.“In their four years of tenure, they have made the state poor. Instead of the promised development, Punjab is now burdened with heavy debts,” said Saini, speaking in Punjabi. He appealed to Punjabis to give the BJP a chance, calling it the only alternative to “corrupt and poor governance.” “I urge the people to bring BJP to Punjab for the development of the state and the future of your children. While our government in Haryana provides women with Rs 2,100 incentive, the Punjab Government has given nothing but false assurances during its four years,” he said.Highlighting the plight of farmers, Saini said the Haryana government treated them as family. “We have given Rs 16,000 crore to farmers as compensation for natural calamities in a year, while the Punjab government has given nothing. Even central schemes and funds fail to reach beneficiaries in Punjab due to the poor policies of the AAP government,” he added.AAP’s protest Saini’s visitEarlier, Aam Aadmi Party leaders from Patiala staged a protest against Saini’s visit to Kisan Bhawan in Samana.
