Govt’s ‘Ravana’ analogy ahead of Lok Sabha debate on Pahalgam attack, Op Sindoor

On a day when the Lok Sabha will discuss the Pahalgam terror attack and Indian response to it, the government drew the Ravana analogy to make its point.Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, while announcing that the discussion on Operation Sindoor would begin in Parliament today, said, “When Ravan crossed the Laxman Rekha, Lanka burned. When Pakistan crossed the red lines drawn by India, terrorist camps faced the fire!”Meanwhile, INDIA bloc leaders gathered in the chamber of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge to discuss strategy for the debate.The Congress-led Opposition seeks to target the government on combat losses in the conflict with Pakistan and on US President Donald Trump’s claims of mediation in the matter.Yesterday in Tamil Nadu Prime Minister Narendra Modi set the tone for the discussions and said Operation Sindoor showed there was no safe haven for terrorists.The government plans to frame Operation Sindoor as a sign of rising and self-reliant India, with the Prime Minister expected to intervene in a debate which is likely to draw eyeballs globally.It will be an occasion for India to speak clearly on Pakistan-sponsored terror and new red lines as reflected in the post Pahalgam attack war doctrine: “Terror attacks will be treated and responded to as acts of war.”
