Guj med college authorities were aware of ragging, didn’t act: Cops | India News

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat Police’s probe into the death of an 18-year-old MBBS student at Dharpur Medical College in Patan nearly three weeks ago has found a shocking lapse on part of college authorities – they were allegedly well aware of the rampant ragging, but chose not to intervene. The investigation, citing statements from 11 other first-year students who were subjected to abuse, says the college administration remained a mute spectator while seniors tortured the freshers. The medical college’s in-charge dean, Dr Hardik Shah, however, claimed he was not informed about the ragging.
