Halwara airport nears completion: 100% civil works finished, flights to begin soon




LUDHIANA: Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jitendra Jorwal on Thursday stated that 100-percent civil works at the terminal site at upcoming Halwara Airport have been completed.Presiding over the meeting with officials from PWD, Public Health, PSPCL, AAI, NHAI, drainage and representatives from contractual companies at the site, the Deputy Commissioner stated that the speed of few last mile connectivity works on the IAF campus has also been expedited.Saif Ali Khan Health UpdateHe added that the administration is constantly in touch with IAF to complete these works as soon as possible.Jorwal mentioned the construction of internal roads, public health services, campus lighting, terminal building, power substation, toilet block, and parking, are already over.The Deputy Commissioner also spoke about flight operations and stated that Air India has already agreed to commence flights to the Halwara airport once it is officially commissioned and receive all necessary regulatory approvals. He expressed hope that the airport will be an economic catalyst which will boost industrial growth, export, employment, real estate and others.
