‘I had to create opportunities’: Mrunal Thakur reveals Aditya Dhar was first director she approached for work

Aditya Dhar has lately become the talk of B-town after the massive success of ‘Dhurandhar’.Many celebrities have praised the film and Aditya, taking to their social media, including Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt and recently Raveena Tandon.Mrunal Thakur, who was last seen in ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ revealed in an interview with News18 that Aditya was the first director she approached for work.In a conversation with News18, Mrunal said, “Opportunities didn’t come to me easily. I had to create them. I had to chase them. I had to make sure that I flashed my face in front of the directors, saying, ‘Sir, main hoon! Kisi na kisi din cast kar lena please.’ I don’t shy away from doing these things. In fact, Aditya Dhar was the first director I approached and asked for work from.”“When I spoke to him after Dhurandhar, I told him that I’ll always remember that day. I didn’t know how to ask for work. I didn’t know how to communicate”, the ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ actress added.The ‘Sitaraman’ actress said that she doesn’t shy away from reaching out to people and make herself visible in order to get opportunities in the industry.She also said she approached her upcoming movie ‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’ producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali for another project.The year 2025 hasn’t been smooth for the ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ actress Mrunal Thakur, as she found herself amid a series of controversies regarding one of her past interviews in which she compared herself to Bipasha Basu and commented on her physique.Mrunal will be seen opposite Siddhanth Chaturvedi in their upcoming ‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’, set to be released on February 20.The film is written by Abhiruchi Chand and directed by Ravi Udyawar.
