Delhi’s first-ever International Film Festival is set to come alive on Thursday with a star-studded line-up, as the capital prepares to welcome Aamir Khan for a special screening of his film Sitaare Zameen Par, marking one of the most anticipated moments of the opening week.Being held at Bharat Mandapam, the International Film Festival Delhi (IFFD) 2026 enters its first full day of screenings and industry engagements, blending cinema, conversation and cultural exchange. Auditorium 1 will showcase a diverse mix of films, including Sankranthiki Vasthunam, Lust for Life, Nirontor, and Meiyazhagan, while Auditorium 2 will host the much-awaited screening of Sitaare Zameen Par, alongside titles like Noor, Bhagwanth Kesari and Mahadev Ka Gorakhpur.Aamir Khan’s presence is expected to draw significant attention, with the screening turning into a key highlight of the day’s programme. The festival, which opened a day earlier with grandeur, has already positioned Delhi firmly on the global cinematic map, with over 125 films slated for screening through the week.Beyond film screenings, Thursday’s schedule also focuses heavily on industry dialogue and collaboration. The Leaders Lounge will host the inauguration of CineXchange, a dedicated platform for filmmakers and creators to network and collaborate.Sessions such as the Pitch Forum, “The Producer’s Chair” focusing on women in cinema, “The Casting Eye,” and an interaction with international actor Enrique Arce will offer insights into the evolving dynamics of global filmmaking.A special session on the “History of Bhojpuri Cinema” will further spotlight regional storytelling traditions, reinforcing the festival’s effort to balance mainstream cinema with diverse narratives. With red carpet moments, global participation, and a mix of cinematic classics and contemporary storytelling, Thursday’s events signal a strong start to what is being envisioned as a long-term cultural landmark for the capital—bringing together audiences, artists and ideas under one roof.
