The police have booked Madan Lal of Sutana, vehicle owner Baru Ram and four-five unknown persons under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Mining Act.SI Surender Kumar, HSENB, in his complaint to the Israna police, said that his team was deployed to keep a check on illegal mining in the Naultha area. The team received a tip-off that some persons were mining soil from fields in Luhari village without a valid permission or permit.Following the tip-off, the team traced a vehicle laden with soil. The police stopped the vehicle and demanded documents from the driver, but he failed to produce any valid document. The complainant said meanwhile, Madan Lal of Sutana village reached there and started pressuring them to let go of the driver and vehicle. However, the complainant asked constable Balram to sit in the vehicle and take it to the RTA parking in Jhattipur. He alleged that at that point, some more youths came in a car and parked it right in front of the police vehicle. They came out and started thrashing constable Balram. They pulled him out of the vehicle, unloaded the soil on the road, and took away the vehicle with them, alleged SI Surender Kumar.
