NEW DELHI: External affairs minister S Jaishankar is set to embark on a six-day official visit to the United States, commencing Tuesday. This marks the initial high-ranking diplomatic engagement between India and the US following Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election.”External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will visit the United States of America from December 24-29,” the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.”He will be meeting counterparts to discuss key bilateral, regional and global issues,” it said in a brief statement.According to the MEA, Jaishankar will additionally preside over a conference involving India’s Consul Generals stationed across the United States.Earlier, this year Jaishankar went to the US in September. This trip comes amid the transition going on from the Biden to Trump administration.
