Karisma Kapoor turns 51; Sunjay Kapur’s 3rd wife’s old interview surfaces online

Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor’s marriage ended with a highly publicised divorce in 2016 that involved serious allegations

Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor celebrates her 51^st birthday on Wednesday amid a difficult personal period. The actress recently lost her ex-husband, industrialist Sunjay Kapur, who passed away last week after reportedly suffering a fatal heart attack during a polo match at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor, England. Amid this, an old interview with his third wife, Priya Sachdev, has resurfaced and is now going viral.

In the interview, Priya spoke about how she met Sunjay and how they built a “blended family” that included his children from previous marriages.

“Sunjay’s previous marriage was not a conventional marriage. He had two beautiful children from that marriage. We love them dearly, and today we are one beautiful blended family,” Priya said, in an excerpt published by SCREEN.

While she did not directly name Karisma, the reference to Sunjay’s marriage history was evident.

Despite the tumultuous past, Karisma has maintained her privacy over the years.

In 2022, Karisma held an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Instagram where she was asked whether she would ever consider marrying again, to which she responded with a humorous GIF of Quinta Brunson looking unsure, captioned, “Depends.”

Sunjay was the father of Karisma’s two children – Samaira and Kiaan. The couple had tied the knot in 2002 but divorced in 2016 after a highly publicised separation that involved serious allegations. Karisma accused Sanjay of domestic abuse, while Sanjay claimed she had married him for financial reasons. Despite the bitter split, Karisma chose to stay single and has kept her personal life largely out of the public eye since then.
