Tobacco businessman KK Mishra has denied that his son Shivam Mishra was driving the Lamborghini that met with an accident in Kanpur. The crash injured a pedestrian and damaged other vehicles.Speaking to the media, Mishra said the car was being driven by a hired driver named Mohan. He said Shivam was only sitting inside the car when the accident happened.According to Mishra, the Lamborghini had some technical problems and was repaired a day earlier. The car was taken out the next day only for a test drive. He claimed that the vehicle developed a fault during the drive, which led to the accident.Mishra also said that his son suddenly felt unwell during the drive and became dizzy. “His condition worsened quickly and he lost consciousness. We immediately sent him to Delhi for treatment, where he is currently under medical care,” he said.He added that the family is going through a difficult time and accused the police of unnecessary harassment. “We have not broken any law. We will fully cooperate with the investigation,” Mishra said.Lawyers question police actionThe family’s lawyer said there are problems with the police version of events. Shivam’s lawyer also said that the Lamborghini was driven by a hired driver and not by Shivam.CCTV footage not clearCCTV footage from the area shows the Lamborghini entering the spot before the accident and security guards rushing in afterward. However, the footage does not show who was driving the car because the windows were dark.Police first registered an FIR against an unknown driver and seized the Lamborghini. Later, Shivam Mishra’s name was added as the suspected driver.Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal said Shivam’s name was not mentioned in the FIR at first because the police were not sure who was driving at the time. The investigation is still going on.Allegations by KK MishraSon fell unconscious in the LamborghiniDriver was attending to him when a tempo hit the vehicle from the frontBouncers arrived, broke the window, and pulled my son outMy son’s condition is critical, sent him to Delhi for treatmentPolice Commissioner lying, claims my son was drivingI’m scared of the press; false news is being publishedPolice threatening me
