Two bike-borne miscreants robbed an LPG cylinder delivery worker at knifepoint while he was on duty in the city, police said.The victim, Keshav Gupta, an employee of Krishna Bharat Gas Agency, was standing on Kali Sadak road to deliver a gas cylinder when the incident occurred around 5:45 pm. The assailants allegedly abused him and, when he protested, they showed him the sharp weapon tucked in their waistbands before snatching a bag containing cash.“One of the men was wearing a mask, while the other was not,” Gupta said. The miscreants robbed him of approximately Rs 34,500 cash, the money earned from the sale of gas cylinders, and fled towards GT Road.After the incident, he immediately informed the agency owners and the police. A police team reached the spot and launched an investigation.Officials said footage from nearby CCTV cameras was being examined to identify the accused.The incident comes amid a spate of snatching cases in Ludhiana. Over the past two days, two elderly persons, including a 67-year-old newspaper hawker, were also looted by snatchers in separate incidents. The hawker sustained serious injuries and was hospitalised. Both cases remain unsolved, and police are scanning CCTV footage for clues.
