Jammu: Security forces launched a massive cordon-and-search operation in Billawar in the upper reaches of J&K’s Kathua district Friday following intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area, officials said.“The area has been cordoned off. Extensive searches are underway to locate the suspects. Additional reinforcements have been deployed to fortify the cordon. Residents have been advised to remain indoors,” said an official.Kathua district remained a hotbed of terror activities in the past year, witnessing several encounters and search operations throughout 2024.
